BUSINESS EXPO - THE MERCHANTS ASSOCIATION OF OAK RIDGE

Announcing the MAOR Business Expo
Tentative Date of April 27, 2010
4:00pm – 8:00pm

What is the MAOR Business Expo?              An exposition of all that Oak Ridge has to offer – products and services for the home & business, food samples from area restaurants & caterers....  All these work together to bring an outstanding crowd to browse the exhibit hall and see what Oak Ridge has to offer.

What does it look like?            We’re set up like a professional quality trade show.

Where is it?     Bonner Field House located on the grounds of the Oak Ridge Military School.
When is it?      Tuesday April 27, 2010, from 4:00pm – 8:00pm

What’s in it for my business?  For a small fee you can get in front of hundreds of potential customers, demonstrate your products and services, take orders and develop business leads. We will make available shared advertising space.

Who else will be there?           We’ll be assembling numerous Oak Ridge and surrounding area businesses to be exhibited.  Having the right mix of businesses will attract a crowd of business people and Oak Ridge residents.

How do we attract business people?              We are looking into hosting seminars as part of the “MAOR College”, attracting other business people on site.

How do we attract home owners?        This event is free to attend.  We are also hosting “A Taste of the Town” sampling of Oak Ridge’s finest.  As said previously stated, we are looking into hosting seminars that attract the residents and business workers of the community.  We are also looking into entertainment that will attract young and old to visit.    We are going to advertise in area news papers.

What is the bottom line?         If you are a business who markets to the general public, this should be an effective event for you to reach new customers.  If you are a business who primarily sells to other businesses we will have attracted that clientele, in addition to the networking opportunities all of the MAOR events provide.  The bottom line is that giving back to the community is great but we can only give back if we are in business and prosper.  By investing in the showcase you have a wonderful opportunity to increase your business!!

How do I learn more? Become a volunteer on the committee and join us on 2/24/10 at 9:00am at the Bank of North Carolina office located at 8000 Linville Rd., Oak Ridge.  Contact one of the committee members: George McClellan Chairperson, David Bowman, Bruce Frankel, Karen Bohner and Pat Nelson for more details.
